    Dr Jack Frawley is a social inclusion research and education consultant. He was recently an Academic Leader at the University of Sydney's National Centre for Cultural Competence. Jack has held several senior academic positions at the Australian Catholic University, Charles Darwin University and the University of Sydney and is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Batchelor Institute. His research and published work focus on social inclusion especially in the areas of leadership studies, program evaluation, teacher education, and minority education. He has worked extensively in Aboriginal Australia as well as the South Pacific and Southeast Asia.

    Gabrielle Russell is Acting Director at the National Centre for Cultural Competence. Her diverse experience has been gained working in non-government organisations, politics, business, church and higher education. Gabrielle is particularly interested in how to develop cultural competence from a non-Indigenous perspective and in particular how to facilitate a deeper understanding of transformative ways to learn and work together. Gabrielle’s formal qualifications include a BA (UNSW), an MBA (MGSM) and a PhD (SCU), as well as a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching (UNDA).

    Professor Juanita Sherwood is the Academic Director at the National Centre for Cultural Competence at the University of Sydney, with a mandate to engage, innovate and lead in cultural competence. A proud Wiradjuri woman, Professor Sherwood is a registered nurse, teacher, lecturer, researcher and manager with a depth of working experiences of some 30 years in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and education. Professor Sherwood has pushed boundaries from a grassroots, community based position that seeks to engage with and build capability within communities, deliver culturally safe models and research methodologies in partnership with communities and recognise in policy and practice the straight line between world views and social justice. She has a PhD from the University of New South Wales, and has previously worked in lecturing, research, management and consultative roles in health, education and Indigenous studies, with her most recent role being Professor of Australian Indigenous Education at the University of Technology (UTS).
